“Throughout my career as a physician scientist, I have experienced first-hand the benefits of close collaboration between experts and across specialisms. I am very excited by the opportunities offered by this new venture, which will combine talent and innovation with Crick expertise to drive forward powerful new discoveries.”

MAXIMISING OPPORTUNITIES FOR SCIENTIFIC INTERACTION

To promote cross-fertilisation and synergy, the Crick uses a ‘salt and pepper’ strategy that mixes researchers from different fields together. Complementing this, research interest groups, support an active programme of scientific seminars, ‘chalk talks’ and symposia – maximising interaction between scientists from different areas.

SEMINARS, LECTURES, AND SYMPOSIA ADVANCING SCIENTIFIC DISCOURSE

Our scientific seminars, lectures, and symposia aim to share knowledge and expertise with the scientific community. We host around 150 events every year – from large international conferences, VIP visits, and corporate hospitality, to symposia, specialist lecture series and more informal talks for Crick scientists and partner organisations. This plays a key role in scientific collaboration and dialogue.
